Let's Go Bucs!
The Cubs today fired Hitting Coach Rudy Jaramillo. Jaramillo is 61yrs old.
In his 3 seasons with the Cubs, Jaramillo struggled to get the Cubs bats going.
However, in his prior seasons working with the Texas Rangers, the Rangers had excellent hitting teams for both avg & power under Jaramillo's stewardship, as hitting coach.
Would you approach Rudy Jaramillo, if you were the Pirates, to replace Greg Ritchie as Hitting Coach?
Do you feel someone with the pedigree of a Rudy Jaramillo, could help develop the Pirates hitters? ( Alvarez? ) Or...
Do you think who the Hitting Coach is on an MLB team, does not make that much of a difference?
Just saw this on ESPN.com. So, I wanted some posters thoughts on this.
Also, in Jaramillo's 15yrs with the Texas Rangers, they were in the top 5 in OPS 10 times.
According to ESPN.
