How would you say that Polumbus, Pashoes, Compton, Trueblood and Nixon all fared against the Titans on Thursday?

Compton had his ups and downs. Likely the backup for Trent at LT heading into the season. Polombus, at least so far, looks like the front runner for the right side.

Pashos was the best out of the backups. I think he wins the 3rd tackle job. I also like Matthews to winn a backup job over Ribeye. If we keep 8 it would be the starting 5 and Pashos, Matthews, and Gettis. If we keep 9 there would be a battle with Hurt and Ribeye. Thoughts?

Nobody is in total game shape right now. Hard to judge fairly. We should review all players after the 3rd preseason game.

after one game i wouldnt make that judgement . ribeye played hurt so that affected his game . i wouldnt give up on compton after one "uneven " game. i did like what mathews did at center and what gettis did

even if Compton and Pashos are even at the end of camp you have to go with Pashos b/c he is the vet. with a lot of experience.

I respectfully disagree. If they end up even, you go with youth as a backup.

So if Trent goes down you want to put out there a guy with no NFL experience to protect our franchise QB? Over a guy who has been in the league for 4 years and has started in the NFL. Wow. There are more questions than answers with Compton. He couldn't beat out Black last year for the backup role. He can't even come close to challenging Poloumbus. Plus he is having an avg at best camp. I don't see the love affair that people have with this guy. I hope Pashos gets it.

If they are performing equally, yeah... you go with youth because it's better for the future of the team and Compton has the potential to continue to get better. Pashos will never be better than he currently is. Best days being behind him.

All things being equal or close, you go with youth.

I hope the best player gets it.

But the youthful guy is still struggling after being in this league for 3 years. OT is going to get addressed next year regardless on who makes it. So why not the veteran?

Your original statement said they were equal. In this latest scenario, you imply they aren't. If they are equal, you go with youth. If they aren't, you go with the best player.

Dean, Compton is just going into his second year. His development is right on track for a guy that was a rookie 7th round pick last year.

My bad. I was off a year. My point is the 3rd Ot is just a stop gap for this year. The position will be addressed next off season.

Maybe not. They need to address starting RT, not who will be the back up.

The Skins felt they addressed the starting RT position with the 2 year deal with Polumbus. If Compton cant beat out Pashos for the 3rd tackle spot you know there is something wrong.

No way the skins felt they addressed the RT position with re-signing Polumbus. If anything, that was a stop gap move. The starting RT position will be a high priority next year unless Polumbus really improves. I also don't understand your comment about Compton beating out Pashos. If that happens, why is that an indication that something is really wrong?

they felt that they addressed the problem this year. im saying if Compton loses the competition with pashos then Compton is not an a decent player. I know they are going to address tackle next year. That is why you go with the vet who has experience.

if all things are equal , as you say , wouldnt the older pashos be struggling too ?

if both play at the same talent level you go with youth
