Seemed like it was only a matter of time. I hope he lands elsewhere soon and wish him nothing but the best. He was a true professional here in his 3rd year. A guy who basically does everything well but nothing great. Not playing special teams cost him a 4th year in Denver. Someone will sign him.

I wonder if he’ll end like Devonte Booker where he goes to a new team and looks way better than he did here.

I actually feel like Freeman's career has been in sort of a weird situation. Is he elite? No. Was he maybe overdrafted based off a great college career because of being a 4 year starter at a prominent school? Yes.

But when he had his opportunity he did just fine. He proved he can play in the NFL, but he was also stuck in a situation where we were struggling on offense and a big part of that is the OL and we were upgrading. Freeman would probably be a decent #2 RB, but we upgraded with Gordon in which we still had Lindsay as our #2, then with Gordon having 1 year left on his contract we spent a high pick on a good looking rookie named Javontae Williams. Without playing special teams he just kind of god shoved out the door as we really put a strong focus into the RB the last two year in FA and the draft.

3 years ago we have Freeman and Lindsay in which appeared to maybe be thunder and lightning. Now they are both off the roster. IF we had a really good #1 on a long term contract, Freeman could still be here. But he has a lot of factors that just didn't go his way to stick around here for a 4th season.

He is a lot like Booker I think. Did well while he was here, but we were always looking for something more.

Good luck to him.

Freeman isn't a bad player, he just isn't a playmaker. He's going to get whatever the playcall and the blocking allow. I think he improved during his time here and he was effective when called upon in spot duty. I wish him well unless he plays against us.

Always liked Royce. I think he will do very well for the Panthers this year and he is a good fit for that offense.
