Why the pessimism?..... Apparently there is the chance that he comes back for some meaningless football in December..... That magical time of year where we pick up a win or two to fuck up a solid draft position.

So we are not going to bring back Williams to play LT? Can only bring one guy back right?

In 2017 it changed to allow 2 players to come off IR. Williams and Ross could both still see action.

From Taylor's comments, it sounds like they expect it to be a 6-8 week injury.... That would still leave considerable time for Ross to get back and show what he has. He's already going to be heading into his 4th season in 2020 - They need to decide whether to pick up the option for a 5th season. I think they'll be motivated to play him to see what he has and whether he can stay healthy.

The NFL really needs to find a better model for guys who are injured. Only being able to return 2 players, and waiting 8 weeks to do so, in a sport that is as brutal as football makes zero sense.

They need a 4, 8, and 10 week option, IMO. If they are not going to do that, then they need to expand the size of the roster to allow for guys to play when those guys are injured. They also need to remove the cap of players who can return.
