Pace caved is the word.I wonder which side blinked first. Better not be the Bears side.

Based on the article linked below, it appears that both sides came to a true compromise.
In detail: Roquan Smith and the Bears get their desired contract compromise
You can breathe, relax, and finally take a shit now probablyWow
I had basically resigned to the situation. I mean, I knew it would end eventually... but things had been dead ass quiet for a while.
Good news. Removes a cloud of uncertainty/controversy hanging over Bears training camp.

Damn...Aaaand he's tweaked his hammy.
Hate to say it gents, but I really see no chance of Roquan opening the season as the starter, and that's even assuming this hammy thing gets cleared up in plenty of time. Depending on how quickly it does heal, his chances of even playing at all against the Chiefs are probably ranging somewhere between slim and none. That leaves him with only the last game to prepare him for the start of the '18 campaign.Aaaand he's tweaked his hammy.
Possibly... The dumb ass should have been practicing instead of holding out like a petulant child.Hate to say it gents, but I really see no chance of Roquan opening the season as the starter, and that's even assuming this hammy thing gets cleared up in plenty of time. Well no argument from me. But I'm more disappointed than angry. I know contract issues take place all the time with today's NFL. I really was expecting to see him as our starter out of the gate a month or so back. But now the question may be when he even gets onto the field. Even if we assume he's healthy by opening night, I'm still not sure we'll see him in any other capacity than rotational at best. Fortunately, Kwiatkowski is playing some mean football, so that will lessen the pressure a bit.Possibly... The dumb ass should have been practicing instead of holding out like a petulant child.
