I agree....

Harvey should be a pretty good RB for you guys.
Still wish somehow your guy in Jeanty could have fallen a little further down the draft. I would feel a whole heck of a lot better about our offense if he was in Denver instead of LV.

I am pretty optimistic about him.

He can be really good in the passing game as well.....just get the ball in his hands.....and let him be the explosive player he is.

The Raiders are probably going to be a lot better this year. Geno Smith has flown under the radar as a QB and is far more serviceable in that area than anyone else the Raiders have had in years. Their offense should be decent, especially with Jeanty. The West is going to be a tough division this year though and it's hard to look at the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers and say any of them are a lock for 10 wins. The Chiefs pretty much are because the NFL probably still considers them good for business when they are in the playoffs. Hopefully someone at the NFL front office will determine a fully competitive AFC West is even better for business and the Chiefs won't benefit from so many insanely fortunate officiating decisions this season.

If that's the case, this division is going to be a slugfest.

It definitely is going to be a fun one to watch. Divisional games will be must watch. Honestly if the Chiefs didn't have Mahomes and Reid and like you said the backing of the league I would put them maybe 3rd in the division when looking at overall talent on the roster. Father time seems to finally be catching up with a couple of their stars. I don't fear Kelce and Jones like I have in the past.

As for the Raiders I'm torn on how to view them. Offensively they have 2 of the more unique pieces with Jeanty and Bowers. And you are right Geno is much better than most like to admit. Defensively though they still look like they are missing about half a unit that would make them competitive. Crosby and Wilkins are the stars, but the rest are not players that make me think this will be a top half of the league unit. I think the coaching though could be the big equalizer here as we have seen in the past Pete Carroll work magic.

Raider's have adults in place making real football decisions, so I fully expect them to be a lot better this year. Geno isn't going to win MVP's, but is a very competent QB who has put up great numbers the past few years. I agree the defense is going to be a question mark, but Carroll gets the best out of what he has on that side of the ball. The AFC west is loaded.

The Ravens GM spoke the other day about the draft process and such and easy to tell that man knows what he is doing and lets all the other teams hiring bad choices make bad decisions over and over for talent to fall into his teams' laps.

The Raiders definitely feel like they have some right pieces in place. I do wonder how many more years Carroll can coach though. He might be like when we hired John Fox of not really for the long-term, but to right the ship that had been wrong for a bit setting up the next coaching hire.

If a team goes through the offseason and they don't think they have some pieces in place they are in real trouble ;)
