Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
The most skilled player I ever saw don a Medicine Hat Tigers jersey, played alongside Lanny McDonld (not a bad player in his own right ) and those guys just piled up the points and wins for the Tigers. The '73 Tigers went to the Memorial Cup but lost to the Quebec Remparts who were led by a guy named Guy Lafleur (another pretty good player). Tom was drafted second overall by the Atlanta Flames (the Islanders had first overall pick and took a pretty good player named Denis Potvin). He put up some fine numbers with the Atlanta Flames and was a big part of the reason that team was competitive right off the hop.
Tom passed away at the age of 63 after battling and succumbing to leukemia.
Former NHL all-star and Medicine Hat Tiger great Tom Lysiak dead at 63
