At first I thought the New Zealander Sean Marks had passed.

Still, I remember Rooks from my first basketball computer game NBA Live '98. Any word on the cause of death?

Not that I've seen. I read this morning that he collapsed and died in a Philadelphia restaurant. Sounds like maybe a heart issue, but I expect it'll be a few days to a couple of weeks before we actually hear anything.

Got to meet and talk to Sean briefly once while he was at the U of A. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

RIP

Bird recently was interviewed and stated he did not expect to live long. He referenced some stats which shows these big tall guys of heart failure in their 50's and 60's . Terrible to think that way

Yeah, but Bird has always been a downer. He'll probably live to be 100 or something. He's already as salty as a 100 year old man.

RIP Sean that is sad.

Reminds me of a funny Shaq story, I guess when Shaq was at LSU they were playing Arizona and Rooks was guarding him and kind of outplaying Shaq pretty clearly. Shaq was talking smack to him saying "I don't care how good you are, I'm the #1 draft pick!". I love that bit, I have to think Shaq was kind of smiling when he said it.
