That's a bummer. Impossible to not like Mutombo. Just a great human all around

He's also got my favorite off court story about a player. When he was at Georgetown, he would go to parties/nightclubs and just scream "WHO WANTS TO SEX MUTOMBO!!!"

He was part of my most painful sports moment, when the 8th seeded Nuggets beat my 1 seeded Sonics in the 94 playoffs , Seattle hadn’t lost 3 in a row all year and were up 2-0 in the series and then Denver beats us 3 in a row and the final 2 games were overtime wins… Seeing Mutombo holding that ball on our home floor hurt like hell .. BUT I respected the guy, he was a solid center, great shot blocker, one of the best … Got to see him play live once in Seattle in 96, he always caused problems in the paint … Sad to hear he passed, RIP Dikembe and thanks for the pain you caused me, and I mean that respectfully …
