I like the new rule but why wait over 2 years to institute the ban? Why not Jan 1 2014?

I just feel like if you are serious enough to play by PGA tour rules, you have enough time to adapt in 7 months...

but that's the thing, PGA hasn't even said they will adopt the ban

The players won't have a choice in the Open and in the British Open since those are run by the USGA and the R & A.

USGA/R&A only implement rule changes every 4 years.

New rule won't ban long putters. Just anchoring.

Biggest effect will be felt in amateur events. All governed by USGA. College golf as well. Huge effect on recruiting. Do you recruit a great player who is anchoring now?
