Rinaldo vs Carcillo ....

A thread on another page was lamenting that Carcillo is having a decent season. Good for him. He wanted more than the Flyers could pay for his role.

So, in a cap-free world, who do you keep?

Rinaldo is a better skater than even a healthy Carcillo. He has shown good hands and has also shown greater restraint. Carcillo is a little bigger, also has good hockey skills when he chooses to use them. Carcillo however is also a magnet for trouble and penalties and penalties that never needed to be taken, and they weren't biased calls...he did the cirme. Rinaldo has so far avoided that. For that reason along with his skating I lean towards Rinaldo.

I've actually heard a Sabre announcer refer to Rinaldo as a professional fighter. Lol. Rinaldo has almost won me over. He does play hard. I think I'd take Rinaldo over CarcillO.

I like carbomb but Rinaldo is doing his job without the BS penalties. He's also very fast....which helps the forecheck.

Carcillo's head snap every time someone coughed next to him on the ice pissed me off. Rinaldo had a rep in the minors of some pretty stupid shit, but I haven't seen any of it in the NHL. SKills seem about even, but RInaldo is younger, and cheaper. And no head snap bullshit.

He yaps a lot. Maybe a little less, but still.


But yes, Rinaldo over Carcillo any day. He actually knows how to hit which for some reason none of our tough guys int he past 10 years knew how to do. Just because they fight doesn't make them a good hitter. It should, but it just doesn't.

I don't want to think about that because it pissed me off more than any other...well maybe not 4706 because he's still not on the bandwagon.


But he seems to have changed his ways and become and all around player instead of just a tough guy.

I am liking Rinaldo a lot more, just still dont have full trust

4706, I don't think a player that fills that role can ever be fully trusted. It is part of the job.
