I'm watchin' right now the Steelers retiring Mean Joe Greene's #. It's their 2nd (SECOND) number retired (though they try not to give out other numbers).

The Birds, with NO SB's ....have retired....9? numbers? Weird.

lol. Still seems weird. Not the 'I'M OUTRAGED'....but says a bit about 'corporate culture'.... how high the bar is for either team.

:agree: totally. They are going to have to un-retire several numbers for sure. It's stupid to retire a number when that player did not help win a championship IMO.

....so who's number should they ''un-retire''?

Let me see you sacrifice your sacred cows.

It's 'not 'unretire'.... it's "Why DID they retire" the numbers? Seems strange seeing as how Pitt handles it. I mean... not even Bradshaw yet. Seems classy to me... but I can see THEY perhaps have a COUPLE they could/should have.... but the Birds? lol....way to funny.

Well, lets see here I'd be happy if they un-retired 5.

The remaining list
15 Steve Van Buren HB 1944–51 20 Brian Dawkins S 1996–2008 40 Tom Brookshier DB 1953–61 44 Pete Retzlaff RB, WR, TE 1956–66 60 Chuck Bednarik LB, C 1949–62 70 Al Wistert OT 1943–51 92 Reggie White(*) DE 1985–92 99 Jerome Brown(*) DT 1987–91Are all worthy of such accolades.

Jerome Brown? lol. Five-year professional career with the Eagles, he was twice selected to the Pro Bowl. Woohoo !

Jerome Brown was Awesome! Best Defensive tackle I ever saw play.

Awesome football player. Funny, charismatic guy. But he dropped a few notches for me when he thought it was a good idea to light em up in his Corvette on wet roads--killing himself and taking his 12-year-old nephews with him.

And of course you are one that believes a few great years earns a NUMBER retire. OK. 3 digit number proposal guy? lol.

And really....better than Greene, Lilly, Sapp, OLSEN?, ALAN PAGE????, Howie? In 5 yrs, you have Brown as the best you ever saw..... wow. Your opinion...but ...wow.
