The steelers were bad in 06 (8-8) and 09 (9-7) and missed the playoffs both years. they were 2-5 at one point in 06 and dropped 5-6 in a row in 09. We'll be lucky to hit 8-8 at this point.

That’s fair. I wasn’t making it as such a direct comparison, as much as I was making the point that after those two SB appearances they fell off that elite level fast. I often think of the Seahawks next to us. They were getting elite QB play from a rookie deal. After they had to extend Wilson it became a lot harder to be that team.
