Utah State was - frequently - hyping their QB Jordan Love for the HEISMAN trophy?

I watched some of Utah State's game last night vs. Air Force and Jordan Love appeared to be a SUB-par quarterback to me. Nothing even remotely special. Last night he did complete 14 of his 23 pass attempts (60.9%) but those passes only totaled 114 passing yds. With only 1 TD.

For the season so far (after 7 games) Jordan Love has a QB Efficiency Rating of 118.5 and he has thrown nine interceptions this season with only eight TD passes (not at all impressive).

He's been Utah State's starting QB for 3 seasons now (including this year) and his QB Eff. Rating of 118.5 is his lowest rating to date. Two years ago, during the fall of 2017, he had a very similar QB Eff. Rating of 119.3. In the fall of 2018 he had a QB Eff. Rating of 158.3 and that IS an impressive rating. But that is far from a national leading number. Plus that's ONE good season out of three.

Yet Utah State saw the need to try to hype him - repeatedly - for the Heisman????? Including sending out Jordan Love candy hearts to Heisman voters???
