Anybody got any clue where some of the higher named UFAs that remain are looking at going? I mean, it seems you could pick up a few nice pieces for cheap right now in a guy like Samsonov.

I think we will start to see guys get picked up when arbitration wraps up and everyone gets their RFAs signed. There is usually a last minute UFA mini-spree right before training camps.

If healthy, I'd like the Flames to bring back Brendan Morrison for another year on a 1-1.25 million contract. Cory Stillman is intriguing, but he might be too pricey.

Gillis has shown that he is a little active on July 1st and then picks up in August when the market cools down and some decent pieces are still waiting and a little more desperate.

I expect 2 or 3 more moves from the Canucks in August.

July 1st is overpayment day

Aug/Sept is the time to take advantage of teams that took the risk of overpaying and creating their own self inflicted cap problems
