Absolutely agree he needs to be the pick that would give the Redskins a scary defensive line paired with Allen

Redskins 1st-round pick should be DL Vita Vea

Problem with this is, there are three teams drafting ahead of us in need of IDL. Miami at 11, Oakland at 10 and Tampa Bay at 7. Granted Oakland has a slightly bigger need at CB, Miami just created a massive hole in the center of their DL with the departure of Suh, and Tampa Bay did the same thing when they cut Chris Baker. I don't think Vea nor Payne will still be on the board when we draft.

You think Payne is gone by #13?

Yeah, both Tampa Bay and Miami are in need of DL help, so, here's my formula:

Two teams (not counting Oakland) in need of DL help minus the top two DL men in the draft, = We're looking at alternatives.

I would not be surprised to learn Washington has held off signing Hankins because they are hoping that one or the other slips to them. If neither does, look for a more aggressive push to sign Hankins post draft.

BTW: As an alternative to those guys, I really like the motor and disruptiveness of Maurice Hurst. He a little smaller than I like but dude has the speed, hand skills and instincts to become a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.

I think IF both are gone, then we will and likely should go safety because Fitzpatrick or James has slipped.

I’m not sure if both will be gone, but I don’t expect Vea to be there.

A great player will slide, history says it will, and like last year, we might be surprised at who it is.

Between the two S, LB, and DL, one will be there for us, probably even our choice of one of two of these guys.

Now I would not be mad if they go payne or vea at 13th but keep this In mind we can lose out on Guice ,chubb and Michal then what at that point we will just keep same rb as last YEAR . Got to pull the trigger on the 2nd best RB at 13. Sorry

Agreed, I just don't think DL will be one of those choices, at least not either of Vea, who won't be there or Payne who might slip to us. I just have doubts that he will based on teams ahead of us who are going to draft DL.

Yes, Vea and Allen make our DL better.

Yes, investing 2years first round picks on DL is smart because they would both be BPA.
