The Reds are saying is a deal is not likely soon? How about never likely? From a baseball standpoint it is just a sign of the times where no one was ever able to get salaries, which are out of control, under control. From the Reds standpoint they are licking their wounds a bit from signing guys to long term deals that are turning up lame. The latest is Homer Bailey. Others who have made the list are Phillips, Bruce, and even Votto. Sean Marshall should be a tax write off by now. Other teams have this lame syndrome happen too as no one is immune from it. However, they just go out find others and pump more money into the pipeline. Angels ownership for example is unhappy with the ruling on Hamilton. Hey, you all signed this guy. Some are good at developing players, some are good at buying them. The Reds are neither.
