I can't think of any better off the top of my head, but I'm younger than most of you. Any of you old timers have anyone?

The dude looks better than half of the NFL QBs right now. Pretty jelly of Clemson TBH.

Probably, and I don’t think your age matters here, freshman quarterbacks didn’t used to be a thing.

There was a time, maybe 1972 or so, that freshman could NOT play varsity football.

So, any freshman would have to have played after that.

Then, it took a few years for the coaches to let the Freshman play as QBs.

He looked pretty damn good last night, calm, cool and collective. Stood in the pocket and delivered and took some hits. Probably the best I’ve ever seen

Best true freshman QB I've ever seen was Michael Vick.

I had the pleasure of being a season ticket holder and watching his entire redshirt freshman QB as he led VT to the BCSNCG, what an awesome experience that was. He was before his time, offenses back then weren't built around a QB of his skillset. Most of what he did was adlibbed as there was no spread offenses. His athleticism was off the charts and best football player I've ever seen in person. The athletes and game have gotten even better since then, but for his era he was the best there ever was IMO.

No.

I didn't see anything last night that suggested he was anything more or less than a top college QB. Clemson didn't win because of him IMO, they were just the better team in all 3 phases.

Really live arm. Even his incompletions and misthrows were impressive. But you gotta give credit to his O-Line, Bama didnt get pressure on him and he got more confident because of that as the game went on.

Who do you have as better? Not saying you're wrong, but any no needs to come with an alternative choice.

That true freshman receiver, Ross for Clemson is a stud too.

The two coming in next year are going to push us to 5 legit threats (two you mentioned, plus Tee's boy Amari, plus Frank Ladson and Joe Ngata '19 - watch for Ngata when you can, he's the next great one).

**edit** - you mentioned #8 (Ross), someone earlier mentioned #5 (Higgins).

Yeah, I don't do that shit. I'm just saying I didn't see anything overly special in what he did last night to warrant saying he is better than all others who have played(never mind that we are looking at a limited pool to start with).

It's not like Clemson put the game on his shoulders or anything like that. They were just better all around, and he is a top college QB who did his job.

:noidea:

Offense should be downright scary next season. I'd expect a bit of a drop off defensively with all you're losing, but there's a lot of talent behind them too, so it won't be much of one if any.

Hope to see yall in the 2019 playoffs.

With no alternative choice, your argument is kind of weak.

Looked pretty damn impressive to me last night.
