it's even less worth it to make a move like that now IMO.. you're never going to get fair value from a team when dealing in this situation.. the flyers are in dire need of a winger now, teams can charge 2 arms and a leg instead of just 1 arm and a leg

the flyers don't have enough pieces to 'waste' them on a stop gap to keep the team in playoff contention

keep the kids and let em grow

Look what knubes got us...but at least he was free. I like what Harry Z's brought to the table and McGinn can continue developing up here. Before you know it Harts will be back and so will Read. Hopefully that's enough!

Actually yes, Like I said before...unless some ridiculous lopsided deal falls into Homers lap, I can def see Homer holding his cards this year.

The way we're pressuring other teams offensively as of late while minus Hartnell and at times Read, yes. Voracek is pretty much unstoppable right now. G and Briere are only just starting to scratch the surface of what they're capable of. Simmonds and eventually Hartnell can get us all of the dirty goals we'd ever dream of. Read appears to have developed into an absolute sniper, much like a Briere except more responsible defensively. Schenn can chip in when necessary and even Couturier looks like he's primed to net some goals in the near future.

That's a lot of offense at the end of the day.

you know, prior to the season I would have said that the flyers need to get a pure scoring winger. but now, i'm starting to think read might develop into just that. even though he just got hurt, he really seems to be developing into a true sniper. in a full 82 game season, i dont think its too far fetched to see him put up 30+ goals.
