I thought that the first Cruise Jack Reacher movie was good. The second one, not so much. I’ll probably still try to give this a shot if I get the time.
That first Reacher film was pretty good. Loved Werner Herzog in it.

I've read every Reacher book, including the recently released "Better Off Dead". So yeah, I'm really psyched about this. Just like I was for "Bosch." From what I read, they are starting with the first book in the series.

Could never accept Cruise as Reacher. The fight episodes alone were totally impossible. A better casting would have been Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans. This new guy seems to fit the role nicely.

Ritchson has played many big, muscle bound roles in the past.

Aquaman in the Smallville show. They looked at maybe doing a spin-off with his character, but it never got off the round.

Thad in Blue Mountain State. He was the clear breakout star in that show.

Hawk in HBOMax’s Titans. I assume Reacher explains his arc in the latest season.

Anybody else binge watch Reacher last night. I did. All eight episodes. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Definitely looking forward to it. However, I'll only watch one episode a night and then not every night.

I've read every Reacher novel and short story, so will be interested in how he is played vis'a'vis Tom Cruise.

I was happy with how Amazon portrayed Harry Bosch.

So the show was reasonably enjoyable if albeit rather silly. Started strong, IMO. But the story just didn't have the legs to stick the landing.

A little too much Batman logic employed by Reacher though where his logical conclusions were just not reasonable.

Did they drop the entire season in one drop?

We finished watching S1 last night.

They did a pretty good job overall. The story is good, lots of mystery to it. The characters were well developed and you like the antagonists. The protagonists were a bit too obvious and over the top.

It is better than the Tom Cruise crap (to be fair I am quite anti-Tom Cruise and think he hurts most projects he is in).
Alan Ritchman owns the role. He is near perfect for the Jack Reacher.

Now, the downside:
Everything was rolling along well until about the last 1.5 episodes. It had pulled you in. Then, without going into details, it goes full action movie troupe with all of the good guys hitting nearly every shot but never getting hit themselves. At one point Reacher gets beaten with a crowbar but emerges seemingly without a bruise, let alone a broken rib or concussion. Plus the finale fxs are cheap as shit with ridiculous cgi fire and smoke.

I was at about a 7.5 outta 10 rating but the last 1.5 episodes had me deducting a point. So a 6.5 from me.

I think so.
I binged it the weekend it came out, I believe.

It was ok.

I would watch a Season 2.

Same. Also, I can watch it without the wife giving me shit for watching something without her as she has no interest in watching it

Sounds about right.
Hopefully they'll listen to the audience and make some adjustments for the next season.
The potential is there.

i thought it was decent... easy binge... which is always a good thing... Biggest complaint was that it was too predictable... not the actual scheme that the bad guys had... But you saw the bad guys a mile away...

Apparently Alan Ritchman (Reacher) said it was a miserable shoot because it was 12 to 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. But they are doing a S2 and they now have the financing to improve both the shooting conditions, and the overall quality (the fxs were absolute garbage cgi in the S1 finale). So I think they have the potential to improve.
