I like the signing. We need to spread the load from La'Veon Bell and he fits the bill for that.

Good move by the Steelers, confused as to why the Pats didn't retain him. In 2013 season: 5.0 avg per carry, 7 TDs, some explosive runs for major yards, strong and durable back, definitely a weapon.

Now PIT has 2 solid RB's. A little worrisome with depth still since the only other RB's on the roster are a FB (W. Johnson), a practice squad retainee (Alexander), and 2 camp bodies (Maysonet & Poole).

And from what I read, we got him for a steal. He's getting about a million a year.

2 yr / $3.85 mil... More like $2mil/yr if you include the signing bonus.

Still a great deal IMO. Better than signing MJD to a 2 yr / $6mil deal (what he wanted).

That and MJD wanted to be the starter, whereas all we were looking was depth.

Not necessarily... He went to Oakland where he isn't guaranteed to start. DMC is the surefire starter over there when healthy.

He knew wherever he would end up he wasn't guaranteed to be the starter. But he basically wanted to get paid more than a backup regardless.
