Great player, first ballot HOF and one of the greatest defensive players ever. Maybe the best middle linebacker ever, at least in the conversation with guys like Butkus, Nitschke, Lambert and others. Glad he's leaving on his own terms.

ESPN is reporting that Ray Lewis is in talks with ESPN to become analyst/commentator for ESPN.

I can see it now. ESPN will turn Ray into a giant caricature of himself. Then they'll have weekly segments where he and Herm Edwards try to out motivate each other with cliched, vastly overrated motivational speeches. And then ESPN will spend the next 20 minutes after the segment jerking themselves off about how great Ray Lewis is.

I believe every word of this and I'm not interested in seeing it. When Herm comes on, I change the channel.

I do not care for Ray, and more than happy he is done after the year. Not looking forward to the idea of him on ESPN, add in Herm and I'll watch something else.

I like Herm in spots. If you catch him on certain shows (like SVP & Russillo) he cuts the act and is actually pretty insightful. But with just about everything at ESPN, he used to play up the effect instead of provide useful content

I kind of think he'll be back. I think he believes that he will retire, but that he'll pull a Favre and when the time comes he won't be able to let it go.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. This is the problem with ESPN, they have to make everything some stupid show instead of just giving good analysis on sports like they are supposed to do. The worst one is Chris Berman on the pregame shows Sundays. Turns the whole show into a big farce and if Ray gets into that mix, it will get old quickly with his intensity. Maybe we could get lucky and Ray could lose it and tackle slam Berman and a couple other idiots on thatr network.
