Given that the Hawks still can't run much, insurance in case JSN gets hurt?

Eh, I don't hate it. Somebody to take the top off the defense. MVS was supposed to be that guy and it didn't work out.

Don't like the price at all, a 4th and a 5th for a one dimensional WR that is more of a run of the mill type seems excessive.

Wait what? Sauce "THE GRAB" Gardner was traded? LOL. Good move by the Jets, that guy is overrated as F all.

And isn't he a free agent next year? Rental player for rest of this season.

Personally I love this signing... Shaheed understands Kubiak's offense so he's immediate plug and play and he's been great in a crappy Saints system for the last few years. Let's not forget you have one of the best in the business (who is willing to do it) in Kupp to mentor him.

JSN has been incredible, but we needed WR depth...

As for money, yes we have to resign players and Darnold's cap is going to go up, but we still have room to spend. Sheed is not going to command some 4 year $150M salary lol. And if he does, that will be because Seattle went to the Super Bowl with him, which is obviously fine.

What is the better trade: Shadeed for a 4th and 5th; or Jakobi Meyers for a 4th and 6th?

I think Shaheed is a much better fit for us than Meyers. He already knows the system and is more of a deep threat player than Meyers which is more important for our offense than another possession receiver.

Seems like Horton is doing great as our deep threat

Shaheed.. we're trying to compete for the division let alone win a Super Bowl. A wideout that knows our system and is familiar with Kubiak is huge at the moment, especially with all the injuries. This may not be a long term signing, it may be a 1/2 season rental, but if you're going to do a move like that, you need a player that can instantly be plug and play. Sure someone like Hendrickson/Crosby (possible HOF talent) can do that, but for lesser players, that's not the case. And giving up a 4th and 6th? Meh, the 4th sucks, but the 6th is whatever. Also, if he balls out here in Seattle and he signs elsewhere, I believe we take the comp rights.

Darnold is playing MVP levels at the moment. The last thing we need to do is disrupt that with a guy coming into a new system and is not on the same page. Shaheed will be, that's the point.

I love the trade frankly. And good trade by the Saints as well, get something. You're shipping about 1/3 of your offense away, but the season is over anyway. Get something...

Tory has 13 catches this season. The most yards he's had in a game is 48.

We all like him but he's not really ready to be a No. 3 receiver much less a No. 2 if Cupp is out.

I agree 100%... I have huge hopes for Horton don't get me wrong, but end of day he's a rookie, and with his injury history is not a guaranteed commodity either..

Seahawks are legit going to be able to run 4 vert plays and either kill teams deep, and/or create much more space in the running game.

Horton can do anything Shaheed can do and more, all he needs is opportunities. He hasn't gotten many chances but has made the most of those he gotten and deserves to get more opportunities not have the Seahawks trade for a vet who is just a field stretcher who will short circuit Hortons development. Horton has earned the chance to get on the field.
Nothing against Shaheed but I hate this trade. JS always talks up player development but then over pays for a jag when the passing game is one of the strong area's of the team. How about a OL or interior LB that is where they use some help.
