Of interest to me… on a site that usually has nothing but negative DAD-like comments… I saw only positive ones for this kid. Albeit… there were only three at the time of my reading…

BB....i may be jumping the gun, but I hope Howard can come in here and win this position. Everything i read about this guy screams leader on and off the field. Guy at every level has been told your not good enough, i remember a interview with a FB after the fiesta bowl that was told the same thing...lol

While it was only one season i think we saw what Trickett is and as long as Ford is his running mate I do not think either one of them will put the work or effort into being a top notch QB. I may be wrong and hope that i am, just a gut feeling about that situation.

I hope Skylar comes to WVU with both a chip on his shoulder… and, another quality that is desperately needed on this team… leadership potential.

Who were the leaders of the offense this past season. Sims was mentioned as a kid who set the standard with his hard work ethic and game preparation. But, I did not see him rallying the troops.

WVU needs a leader like Pat White. I know Pat made a bunch of jaw dropping plays throughout his career, but the kid was also known to push everyone around him… everyday. He also lead by example, but who is going to be impressed by a kid who doesn't know the plays… or the hand signals… for the offense when you're 2 months into the season?

We need to get Justin Scott on campus in the Spring as well. Big kid with a big upside IMO....beginning is blurry but it works itself out.


I think Howard will be given every chance to win the position, things I see on tape.....better thrower than Trickett and better feet than Millard or Ford.

If you look at his first tape and then at the tape from his QB camp he has made major strides just this year....hope one of us is right with these predictions!

Long term I love him but from what Ive heard he didn't even make all conference/area in his neck of the woods this year. Are you still in that area? Any truth to that ?

I like the fact that this kid is a DUAL-THREAT QB - won't be afraid to take off running if the play isn't there

So much of the post season award process is based on gawky numbers. I thought I read where Crest's team was blowing out competition regularly, and this may have affected his season's stats.

They were 9-4 this season. They scored 435 pts as a offense (33ppg), they were the two seed in the MD 2A state playoffs and were upset 14-0 by the 4 seed.

Trickett in his head is a starter? Can we get him to flush that idea and fill it with knowledge of the offense?

I am rooting for Howard, seems like a guy who really wants it and knows how to earn it as opposed to the guy who just thinks it should be his.

I'm happy Howard will be enrolling in January. He'll get an opportunity this spring, and we will see what happens.
