If I was the Dodgers hell yeah I would get rid of Crawford with that contract and the fact that dude can't stay on the field. That would be a great deal for the Dodgers, no way I'd do that if I was JD
No to Crawford. Do we have to dangle Nathan to get Ethier?

Trading Nathan is not selling Lainey. It's swapping a strength for a weakness.

Unless he is traded for prospects, we have those. Not a bunch of outfield depth but we need ML outfield talent that has shown considerable production. We currently only have Cruz that's proven he can produce and we all know he faces the suspension and is a FA.

Crawford is getting 20 million a year until 2017 and Either gets 17 million through 2017, both would require Dodgers eat a substantial portion of those salaries in any trade

If this speculation, it just goes to prove that loyalty will get you no where. A guy like Nathan will be shipped out like the passing of a cool breeze if they can get any thing for him.

I understand that Justin, who is contention that can trade for a bat? Joe is a FA with an option year

I'm saying if he goes, I want someone on the field for him, not prospects.
Nevermind, you answered down below

Well the good news is, I don't think the Dodgers care about money

Well, anyway these next few days before the trading deadline are proving much more interesting than the games themselves, DT. Shame we have to seem so desperate.

Nathan, WOW.
1) we'll see if it's for prospects
2) it better not be for prospects 5 games out before August, horrible signal to send to the team and fans
3) maybe nothing
4) if it for prospects, I guess the team can really relax, forget about winning...why would they care if the GM isn't backing the rest of the season?
this is more interesting than the games

Darryl I'm not sure what is going on. Buying , selling. trading etc. Seems to me there is too much to do to stay in contention. Just getting the offense on track looms heavy enough. More likely to resolve more problems in the off season than to throw everything up in the air and compound problems.:noidea:

Per MLB trade rumors the Rangers have considered trading Nathan. That's actually a really good idea. Except what contending team wants to trade a bat away?

Hmmm and people were telling me that I was proposing dumb trades when I said we should trade joe Nathan for a big bat since we have a deep bullpen

Trading joe Nathan is not selling. We are still 1 game out of the wild card

I'm near certain it's not for prospects. It's just not something JD would do.
He wouldn't give up when we're just 1.5 games out of a wild card spot.

Depends on who we get. Could still be dumb and you can bet many will think so.

Yeah obviously it depends. I just don't like that I got attacked for hit when I saw fans on lonestarball talking about it
