Latz with another save. He was overdue to give up a run or two plus he’s been interviewed on MLB tonight lately getting national exposure. That could have jinxed him too.

In the ACL tonight Manni Ramirez went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He started the year in the Dominican Summer League and hit so well that he was promoted to the ACL. The kid is barely 19 years old and his combined OPS this year is 1.148. He is actually hitting better in Arizona than he did in the Dominican. He may get to play for Hickory later this year the way he has been going. The RF is 6'5" and who knows if he has stopped growing.

As you know if we actually rebuild that could change and I hope it does to the point we a strong enough farm system that challenges these players listed to the point that they take their spot from them as we need depth as I am not completely excited about this list especially the BP.

It would certainly be unwise to only field a team from your own organization. I was not trying to imply that they should do that. I was only picking out the best 26 man roster from our organization to show where we stand presently. There would certainly need to be a handful of free agents sprinkled in.

This time though, I would like to be a little wiser than we were the last time free agent money became available. We need to spend on a wider variety than just starting pitchers and shortstops.

One thing missing from my list, as you mentioned, is the 4 or 5 really good prospects we could get back in trade if we sell at the deadline as we should. That might change this list significantly.

I got where you were coming from. My response really goes along with the last two paragraphs you stated. We are on the same page.
