After losing the last series to Miami the Rangers will face a pretty good opponent in the Blue Jays, on the road. Historically, the Rangers have done very poorly in Totinto.
I think the Rangers will lose this series, but since it is a 4 game series there is a decent chance of a split. The starting pitchers for the final 2 games of the series are still up in the air. Gore and Eovaldi take the hill in the first 2 games.
The Blue Jays currently hold the last wildcard spot. The Astros, A's and Rangers are all 1 game back. If they somehow sweep us it could go a long way toward them pulling ahead of the pack.
To me, it still looks like the Rangers will meet the trade deadline at 51-59. The Cubs have already traded for 2 pitchers who are having bad years. I think if we are sellers we could match up very well with the Cubs since we currently have three starting pitchers to offer up. Montgomery could very well be a fourth one.
The best thing for our future seems to be to get the Blue Jays and Seattle to play very well between now and the break. I think the Rangers will do their part.
