Series Thread: Rangers Travel to Oakland For Three Games September 24-26

The Rangers will travel to Oakland for the last time, i think. Hopefully, MLB will never make the mistake of sending an expansion team there.

I have a lot of memories of those 70s Oakland teams that were so dominant the first few years we had the Rangers. I also have a lot of memories of Oakland not coming out and supporting their teams over the last several years. Unfortunately, I also have a memory of those A's fans being so boisterous toward our guys in the bullpen that Frankie Francisco, Doug Brocail and others got into a lot of trouble. That was not "Bueno."

I have heard that a lot of extra security is going to be brought in to handle what is supposed to be a very boisterous crowd Thursday. That will be Oakland's last home game. It may get ugly.

The Rangers will send Eovaldi, Bradford, and Rocker to the mound.

The Rangers currently hold the 7th best draft lottery odds for next year's draft. They are still only a couple of games from the 5th best spot and could fall as low as 9th.

I saw Shawn McFarland had an article about where the Rangers ranked among reigning World Series Champions who missed the postseason the next year. It is time to take the 2023 World Series out of the equation for this season and future seasons.

Not only will #Rangers not have Josh Jung for the rest of the season, but they will be without Ezequiel Duran for a few days as he takes paternity leave. Veteran Matt Duffy could be an option for the roster. I'll throw this out as another possibility: Max Acosta, who is Rule 5-eligible this offseason.

Maybe Semien cold slide back to SS and Smith could play 3B while Foscue plays 2B. Semien complained to Woodward a couple of years ago about being asked to play SS while Seager was hurt, but he should just get over it if he still has a problem.

I believe you have to play 6 full seasons in the minors to be a free agent. Blaine has played 4 full seasons

The year he was drafted isn't a full season. I am nor sure if 2020 is counted or not since there wasn't a minor league season that year.
