I wonder how far out of the third wildcard spot or the division will we have to be for him to face facts.

I think 6 minimum, but 7 or 8 might be necessary.

I am thinking our record at the deadline will be 51-59. We have 30 more games until then.

We need the third wildcard and the division leader to have a 58-52 record for there to be a 7 game difference.

The question is, can we reasonably expect 2 teams to do that well? To get to 58-52 Toronto would have to go 19-11. Seattle would have to go 17-12. Looking at the schedule it seems Toronto will have a tougher time than Seattle, but who knows.
Yes it is smart to put a pencil to it.
Conclusion. If we muddle CY may still buy rhinking we are adding holes. Especially bullpen arms but if we collapse then we don’t buy but if we sell it might be only expiring contracts not ones having the extra year

This is all pretty weird as Duran and Jung have cooled off and Nimmo has been unlucky
So the thought it when Seager gets back the offense is fixed with Wyatt doing well

But what about pitching especially SPs
The pen is collapsing despite the media pushing the past success. It’s not sustainable

So yeah a fan is in a tough position wanting the Rangers to do well but afraid CY will read success as an Amen to this being a playoff caliber team threat should contend.
Surely sneaking in makes the owners more money. To me this is a huge factor in the decision making ahead

At least ownership has a history of accepting a rebuild, and that acceptance led to a World Series Championship.
