From Scott Lucas:

All Noisy On the Injured Front. Per the Rangers, pitchers Luke Farrell and Yohander Mendez will transfer from Arizona to Frisco tomorrow. Edinson Volquez is expected to throw in Surprise on Wednesday. Per local media, Jeffrey Springs is also to join Arizona, and Taylor Hearn has been shut down with elbow irritation, although once again he's not destined for Tommy John surgery. Best as I can tell, Hearn pitched in Nashville long enough to use up an option, but he still has two remaining.

Would be fun to win 2 games up here against a good team.

The rangers have been playing a lot better since gallo’s injury was discovered.

Causation or correlation?

They have also played 9 out of the last 12 games against acrubb teams.

Would be amazing considering they just kicked the Angels into next week.

I seem to recall Gallo being an automatic strikeout the last 2 weeks he was in there. It’s very tough to win games when you get no production from the 5 spot.

They lost 6 in a row just before they DLed him. Those 6 were lost by an average of 4 runs. At his normal self he couldn't have done much against that. Most of those losses were to Houston and they are a much, much better team than we are. Detroit and Seattle are much easier teams to beat. It is the same reasoning you use when you say Odor hits much better against Kansas City and Seattle. Sure, Joey going 2 for his last 26 didn't help, but I don't think it is accurate to attribute the turnaround to him not playing, when there are much bigger factors at play.

Mike minor has been amazing. Where was this guy hiding for the last month or so?

Offense has been disappointing. It’s not like we’re facing mike minor or Corey Kluber out there.

I could care less if a guy like Minor is considered weak because he is mouthy re not wanting to be traded. Perhaps he just likes it here and expressed himself. If someone is not the strong silent type he is judged often harshly

A shutout against a playoff team speaks volumes

Then he should be jumping at the chance to sign an extension that is mutually beneficial for both sides. I’d give him a no trade clause if he made the contract affordable. He seems like the kind of guy who would love a no trade clause.
