A couple of years from now we could be better and need guys who are the next Mitch Brattt or Kohl Drake to help us out. So, don't trade them now to slightly benefit a mediocre team now. Instead, keep them to help out a better team in a couple of years. What if we had traded Evan Carter in 2022 and didn't have him to rescue us in September and October of 2023?

Right now it would have been nice to have Kohl Drake starting instead of Alexander, Quantrill and whoever else follows later on this evening.
CY should think long and hard before trading Dalton Pence because we may need him next year in a similar situation.

Listening to a clip of 105.3 talking about what is the problem with our minor league system. No mention of us decimating it. They did question our issue with developing our minor league players which I can agree with that.

From Scott Lucas:

That was Marco Gonzales's first scoreless outing of 3+ innings since August 2021 (68 appearances ago)
Still looks fringe. Total finesse pitcher but maybe ok as long man until Cal takes it over

Yes at a minimum CY bailed on keeping some AAA starter depth. Not smart

Yeah, I think he just faced a lineup that was resigned to losing the game. I wouldn't expect anything like that in a much closer game.

The Red Sox have now won 15 straight. They have a second game left to play this evening as part of a doubleheader.

The Mariners are currently losing, but it is still early and close.

Hope you get back on soon DT. We need you. Also were all lucky to have Saddles on here providing us with help so we can watch our favorite team. Not to mention his articles on certain prospects to give us all in depth information on the player.

What do you guys think about this pitcher mentioned on MLB Trade Rumors:

Right-hander Peter Strzelecki has opted out of his minor league deal with the Brewers, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. He is now a free agent and eligible to sign with any club.

Strzelecki, 31, started this year with the Brewers on a minor league deal. He was selected to the big league roster in May but then was designated for assignment the next day without pitching in a game. After clearing waivers, he elected free agency and signed a minor league deal with the Yankees. He opted out of that deal last month and circled back to the Brewers.

Around all those transactions, Strzelecki has thrown 31 Triple-A innings with a 4.06 earned run average. His underlying numbers are far better, as his 28.5% strikeout rate, 4.6% walk rate and 42.7% ground ball rate are all better than average. In his major league career, he has logged 83 2/3 innings with a 3.44 ERA, 24% strikeout rate, 8.4% walk rate and 35.8% ground ball rate.

He’ll head to the open market to see what kinds of opportunities are out there. There’s a lot of roster shuffling happening at this time of year, with the trade deadline coming up on August 3. As teams wheel and deal, perhaps an opening will be available for Strzelecki. If he catches on somewhere, he is out of options but hasn’t yet qualified for arbitration, meaning he is theoretically cheaply controllable for many years if things go especially well.

As bad as we need pitching without repeating another Gore abortion, why not take a chance on the cheap.
