There isn't room for Willie Calhoun right now because JD has abandoned the rebuilding plan right in the middle of it. He simply doesn't have the patience to see this thing through. He is contented to build a WC contender. Building another WS championship caliber team requires a level of patience that JD doesn't possess. In the pursuit of gold he has become distracted by fool's gold.

It pains me to say, but it looks like the best course of action now after today’s development is to trade Calhoun for the best prospect we can get.

He’s another version of Profar, the front office has just not handled his personal situation well.

Willie shouldn't have been sent down. They should have gotten rid of that inept POS Odor. The decisions this organization has made in the last couple of years is getting ridiculous.

He has a contract and they somewhat recently missed the opportunity to demote him to the minors after he accumulated 5 years of service time.

I’m not an odor fan and it makes me sick how the front office has treated him, but there’s not really care much that can be done at this point.

From Scott Lucas:

Top pick Josh Jung will head directly to Hickory from Arizona. We Texas fans don't have much experience with first-round college hitters, but for reference, Justin Smoak began his pro career at low-A Clinton. Certainly, the rookie league was beneath him. Playing in Arizona was just a way to get his feet wet, but they were looking downright pruny after just a few games.

Sherten Apostel had been Hickory's third baseman, but he was pulled in the 7th inning of last night's game after homering twice. Down East was playing only 70 miles away last night and is headed to western Virginia. Coincidence? No. The 20-year-old Apostel is a Wood Duck, indeed the youngest Wood Duck by nine months.

Righty Joe Barlow was promoted to AAA. Barlow has fanned an astronomical 47% of opposing hitters in 39.2 innings across high-A and AA. On the downside, his career walk rate is a lofty 15%, although it dropped to a tolerable 10% in his few weeks in Frisco. Barlow will definitely be added to the 40-man roster this winter, but only if he doesn't make his MLB debut first. Not bad for an 11th-round pick out of Salt Lake Community College.

Per local reports, LHP Taylor Hearn is set to throw a live bullpen this week and might be back on the field by the end of the month. He was shut down with elbow inflammation after his MLB debut.

They did the same with Rua and Profar. They're getting quite good at it.

In fairness, Rua was terrible.

He’s not really comparable to the other 2 who had a much higher ceiling at the time they were getting screwed over.

Rua was never given a fair chance. Banny said he was going to be a starter and next day he was back on the bench.

He never got a fair shake here. He might not have ever planned out, but we will never find out.

I don't blame. We are doing a great job of trying to demoralize a young player.
That is a terrible trait for an organization that is supposed to be planning to depend on a lot of young players over the course of the next 3-5 years.

Fellas, I know nothing about anyone on this board or what your career has taught you but corporate business has no loyalty to anyone. These kids have no knowledge of loyalty at their young age. Willie Calhoun will no doubt take this move personally but he will later learn it wasn't. Just lack of loyalty. Big business has little feelings except for money and that is #1.

I just want them to build a team the right way. To me they are too loyal at times, like to Odor.

Lynn tried to play chicken with Dyson instead of going after him with 2 strikes. He doesn’t have a rhythm when he takes so long to throw the next pitch and he screwed himself
