The Rangers are still in place to be the third wildcard. Even with the disappointing series with the Tigers, they are still cling to a playoff berth.

The Rangers will send deGrom, Gore, and Eovaldi to the mound. The Angels will counter with two righties and a lefty.

What does that leave us against the Astros as starting pitchers? I don't think we planned this out very well. Houston's offense has been on a roll.

This series should be the litmus test on whether this team should be buying at the deadline despite their place in the standings.

It’s going to be a rough series with the Angels. Their 3 best pitchers are going and de Grom has not handled the Angels very well. Also Detmers usually has good games against the team.

If the Angels take 2 of 3 that means the Rangers playing at home would lose 4 of 6 against two teams that combined have already lost 105 games.

Detroit was not a surprise. They went backwards when Skubal went on the IL but I expect them to right the ship. But the Angels are bad and we can't lose 2 out of 3.

There are 22 games left until the trade deadline. I think the Rangers will go 8-14 in those games. That would put us at 53-59.

That would be a "start rebuild" sign.

Jim Bowden says the Rangers should trade for Luis Robert. He must be drinking some good stuff. Robert hasn’t hit over 224 since 2023 season. Don’t need another player that can’t hit.

It might only put us 3 or 4 games behind in the division and the wildcard. I think CY would see that as a "buy" sign, unfortunately.

I think to avoid CY being a buyer we would have to get ice cold and Seattle and one wildcard contender would have to get red hot.

Or if injuries keep piling up.

If they lose 2 out of 3 to the Angels then enough is enough. It would be ridiculous to become buyers for an early exit. Honestly the Rangers would need atleast 1 quality starter 2 decent relievers and a lethal bat to even be considered legit contenders. Not to mention it would ravage our minor league system.

I have them going 10-12. 55-57 at the deadline. Think both of us will be close to 53 to 57 wins

Dave Raymond stating Carter showing power in his last 5 games. It was a HR and everything else singles. Dave is a stickler for details. Not.

Duran put no mustard on that throw. That was the problem.

I hope the Rangers can pull this game out.
Mariners came back from a 4-0 deficit to take a 5-4 lead in Miami. Marlins just tied it up 5-5 bottom of the 8th. Astros and Twins are winning.
