Yep, that would be exactly 2 weeks between starts.

The Rangers have done this before. You get an injury to a veteran starting pitcher and exercise an extremely amount of optimism in their guess as to when he will be ready again. Meanwhile, you bring a young starter to the taxi squad and let him rot for 2 weeks before finally giving in to reality and DLing the veteran, and start the very rusty rookie. No one wins in that scenario.
