It's the offseason and I'm bored. Only big signing so far has been Corbin.

So let's have some fun.

Ray Pepper has the least amount of career RBIs for a player with at least 100 in one season.

Pepper drove in 101 in 1934 for the St. Louis Browns but only managed 69 (nice) more RBIs in his 5 year career.

When so many fields say he can not play how was he supposed to get any RBIs?

Random stat/fact of the day:

Barry Bonds could return to baseball and go 0 for his next 1,395 without reaching base safely. His career OBP would still be above .400

That's tough. Without looking it up at all, I'm going to say.. the Padres?

Royals. I don't remember how many Moustakas had, more than Balboni's 36 and less than 40.

Thanks for not cheating. Padres had Caminiti and Mo Vaughn

That was my first thought. I knew someone had broken Balboni's team record but by how many I couldn't remember.

Looks like Moustakas had 38.

@jwolt92 Padre record is 50 in Greg Vaughn's monster '98, which of course was only good enough for 3rd best in the NL that year.

Charlie Lau had them all swinging down on the ball during the first run of good years, that's why Whitey canned him  Funny now to think of Herzog not liking guys slapping the ball around but the Royals had bigger guys that wouldn't even hit the thing out in batting practice.

Still in the 70s and early 80s, the Royals didn't have anybody that was going to hit a lot of homers. A big year for Mayberry, McRae, Otis or Brett was getting into the high 20s. Balboni was Kingman with less contact. Bo had a shot at 40, but never played enough.
