I'll save you any embarrassment.

The team above had the second-highest point total in the league. Unfortunately I also had the third highest point total against. I went 5-8 and finished in 9th place (out of 12). This team didn't even make the playoffs.

I had nearly 100 points more than the team that won the league (and went 9-4). But the champ had nearly 200 points less against compared to my team. The champ also had the 5th highest point totals.

And the guy with the highest point total -he went 10-3 and finished 4th.

Gotta love fantasy.

Joe this year in my main keeper league we are trying to help offset that some what

we play our usual weekly head to head game in our 10 team ppr league 13 week season

obviously each winning team gets a 1-0 record for the week but we then reward the top 5 point getters an extra weekly win and the bottom 5 point getters a weekly loss

thus we play 26 games each instead of 13 by seasons end

very cool way to try to reward the high scorers. One league I was in just gave a small weekly $$ amount to the top point getter, but Ive never played in a league where pts affect standings, outside of tie breaking situations.

good idea, might try one like that sometime!

first year trying it

i put it up for vote 9 votes in out of 10

there were 3 options to vote on

play 2 games a week different opponents same line up 2 votes

2 games a week different opponents with the potential to change a player or 2 in your line up
but that causes me the commish a wee bit extra work 2 votes

and the 5 top pt earners way which won the vote with 5

i think it shall work fine....

Was thinking about Sam's money league and how he used the consensus picks.

I started going through a couple of drafts (not mocks, really, just counting based on my rankings) and I was not that happy with the way my teams were shaping up. They weren't bad, but I felt the teams could have been stronger...

So I overhauled my 200 listing. Made some major changes.

I can't do a top-200. And I sure can't use one to draft. My first pick changes a lot of things. If I start with a WR, for example, mid-round RBs move up and mid-round WRs move down, and if I start with two WRs the effect is even higher. And everyone else's picks change things, too. And if a top-200 isn't good past the first couple of rounds, what good is it at all?

I use a top 200 as a checklist, nothing more. ..which is why I never made one ;)

To be honest, I never used to rank my players in one continuous list. But a few years ago I tried it and it helped me weigh the value of not only certain players of the same position, but player values of the other positions. Would I rather have Sproles over Eli or Rudolph? One list helps. So now I'm hooked.

Was watching a few shows on ESPN and they're advertising to join ESPN "Insider" and their tagline for investing into this is...
"51% of Insiders are more likely to win their league."

Seriously? 51%? I find that humorous.
So 49% of Insiders are more likely to lose their league.

Anybody doing a Bad Quarterback Fantasy League? You get points based on how poorly your QBs peform. It makes those Buffalo Bills/Jacksonville Jaguar matchups must see TV.

Looks like Little was cited for doing 81 in a 60-mph zone.

Since I have him in the suicide league I'm glad he's fast, but I had no idea Weeden had that kind of arm.

Chef, you out there?

I see the Vikes have claimed J'Marcus Webb off waivers. Since you don't care too much for Ponder, if Webb plays any snaps at RT, you may get to see Ponder out much sooner.

Sorry. So glad that Webb was cut. Trestman and Co. may actually know what they're doing just based on this move alone.

What is it with the Vikings and guys named Webb? I just had flashbacks of last year's playoff game. If anything happens to Ponder, they may switch Joe back to QB, albeit third string. :what:

Was watching the NFL Network's fantasy football segment this afternoon. On the right side of the screen they were showing the overall rankings in groups of 6. Most all of the pictures didn't match the names. It was a major fail.

They showed Tom Brady's picture in just about every grouping. Gore's picture came up a lot too. I didn't know that Jason Witten was not white? And then when it got down in the rankings when the D/ST started to show up, I think they showed the Broncos logo with Jacoby Jones' name.

Fail. Fail. Fail.
