Has to be OL heavy ( regardless of where they select the players ).

With Saffold moving on and the Rams not expected to make any big splashes in FA ( especially on the OL ), they have to get at least one OT and 2 guards in this draft.

OT is now a must because they won't have Saffold's versatility to play LT if Long isn't ready to go to start the season. Plus, they need to replace Saffold's guard spot with a quality starter, not some backup ( ala Shelley Smith ).

Luckily, this draft is deep at both positions, so they can get what they need. In what rounds remain to be seen, but the OL is in serious need of repair.

Keep in mind that this is a really weak Center draft and a couple of Guards might get drafted to play Center. Its a really, really deep tackle draft but pretty average at Guard imo.

Delmas is in Miami now and that was a team rumored to be in the Byrd sweepstakes.

I must admit that Clinton Dix is probably more attractive than paying Byrd Finnegan money

Yea I think the Rams just decided to not sign Byrd. Dumbass just priced himself out of a Rams uni and assures a greater likelihood of drafting Clinton-Dix.

Trade down from #2 and #13 and pick up two 2nd rounders ( plus other picks ).

Trade two 2nd rounders for 1 first rounder, and the other 2nd, a 3rd, 4th and 7th for the other 1st rounder.

4 1st round picks, but no 2nd, and possibly no 3rd and 4th rounders.

Sign Jon Asamoah to play OG and draft Su'a-Filo, Gabe Jackson or Dakota Dozier. There are your starting OG's. Draft Bryan Stork, OG/C from Florida State in round 5 or 6 for depth.
Assume Long is healthy and we draft Matthews,Robinson or Lewan. We have Barksdale and we will draft another OT for depth in the later rounds (Cornelius Lucas from KSU) and probably sign another cheap veteran OT for depth.

Starters: Long,rookie OG,Wells,Asamoah,rookie RT
Bench: Barksdale,Barnes,Jones,rookie OT,rookie OG,veteran OT

This is probably the reason why Wells hasnt been cut.
