Than you trade your best young player to get more picks, betting on them potential instead of consistent all pro production, seems to slow down your rebuilding even further.
thats my thoughts as well

Right, but it all depends if he nails some talent, between that, free agency, teams can turn around pretty quickly... IF they nail it, everyone wants to, it just doesn't always work out that way....

You are talking about a guy who traded a 3rd rounder for a guy facing suspension, than release him, than sign him back for the same cost you released him at. That is the guy making the decisions.

Let's see where the Raiders are in a couple years, then we'll know more... He's made a couple early questionable decisions, but he needs more time... Everything is gonna come down to the next couple drafts for him... 4 1st round picks coming in the next 2 seasons, can he find some gems, we'll see ...

The Gruden deal was pretty ridiculous. 10 years fully guaranteed 100 million contract for a guy who hadn't coached football in 10 years, whose coaching style was clearly starting to seem left behind by time even back when he left Tampa Bay. Any team who brought him in should have offered no more than a 3-year deal to test the experiment before making that type of commitment and told him to stay in the announcer's booth if he didn't like it. That contract he got sounds like something a nostalgic drunk playing Madden 2003 as the Buccaneers would come up with.

Hard to say, but if the ship sinks it’s gonna be all on Gruden... We’ll be getting back to this in 2-3 years, if the Raiders aren’t improving by then he’ll be on the hot seat for sure ....

His QofF better come thru for him or he's done in 3 or 4 years. On the bright side, he still gets paid his 50mil.

Real shame the way that team has crumbled. Not long ago, they were rising with Carr. Now the talking heads are saying he could be benched. Gruden should be benched. He has contributed immensely to the downward spiral.
