The crazy thing is that Zion is a rookie. He got paid a bit as a first round pick with some endorsements, but he definitely has teammates in better position financially to do this.

Sucks for the season. As a Pistons can I'm glad I don't have to watch this version any longer, but they have lost their very strong possibility of gaining more long ping pong balls

it'll be interesting. MLB did cancel the World Series because of a strike one year in fairly "recent" history.

It just depends on how long this takes to resolve. If this resolves in 1 month, there will probably be a scaled back playoffs, etc.

If this takes 2-3 months before its resolved, kiss the playoffs good bye.

Just ordered my Quad Cities River Bandits ticket for June 27, so obviously if nothing else I'm hoping for baseball season to start at least in the early portion of that month.

players shouldn't be doing this. The owners should be the one doing this. Most are just sitting on their ass and watching players who are not nearly as rich help these arena workers out

And they should have done it as soon as the announcement to shut down was made.

In some cases, I think it has to do with who they are actually employees of and who runs the arena.

For example, Staples Center, is run by AEG (who is also the parent company for the LA Kings). They are currently working with the Lakers and Clippers to provide relief for their folks.

It's a nice gesture by the players. Ideally, all teams and facility operators will work with the teams and the players won't end up actually having to pay anything.

I think most, if not all, have been.

Some have been quieter about it. I had no idea that the Lakers, Clippers or Kings were doing anything until I read it in the paper this morning.

Plus, not every situation is the same. For example, Staples Center is home to the Lakers, Clippers and Kings all trying to work together and come up with a workable plan. Might take a little time.

and the thing is, realistically, from everything that i have read from actual experts, they all think its going to be worse in a month then it is right now.

My guess is this lasts at least 2 months. Who knows though- obviously i am not a dr.
I say it lasts 3 to 4 weeks.

Gilbert and Cuban are doing this--- but those 2 guys are two of the most progressive and generous owners in the business.

Do you get specific seats or a have big group of something? Otherwise, why the need to pre-order minor league ball tickets?

Just read this morning that the Lakers, Clippers and Kings, along with Staples Center have put together an assistance package for the more than 2,800 employees that is expected to be worth more than $5 million.

The actual amount is fluid because they don't know yet exactly how many events will be cancelled, but they are prepared to pay them through the end of both the NBA and NHL regular seasons.
