NFC East
Cowboys lost to the Panthers, and my models stayed fixed at positional games. However, I should have thought about the back to back road games knowing Dallas' history. I had that as a W. Other than that, Dallas won and lost expected games, including Cardinals(I thought differently after the first few weeks). Dallas I had 2-2 or 3-1 against the NFC North. It's likely they will beat Minnesota, and if nothing else they already have at most 2 losses with the tie. I have them or GB winning in Detroit, and I had Dallas in preseason. My model did not have both Dallas and NY beating the Chargers, but Dallas needs it for any shot at the division. I also have Dallas reverting to their often 5-1 in the division. Eagles I had splitting with the Giants because they were playing them twice in three weeks. There were models where Philadelphia would lose in either GB or Minnesota, so with their win in Minnesota, I'm expecting a loss to GB, though after the Kraft injury I have pause. Eagles were supposed to lose to the Lions, but the Lions should beat the Commanders before. Eagles will have another division game turnaround against the Commanders and while Eagles have beaten Commanders twice in three weeks before, Daniels should be healthy in both games barring another injury. I had Eagles losing one game against the AFC West, but not Denver. However, after the Commanders win in LA, the week 14 game is a tough call.
NFC North
Green Bay has put me back in their corner again. I expected GB to lose to the Bengals or Ravens before the year started. Now, it may be Minnesota losing to Baltimore. I did not have Carolina as loss. And the models were split on the Steelers, but all models split Arizona and Pittsburgh. GB has a ceiling of 12 wins and a floor of 9. I predicted a loss to Denver, and after Kraft's injury I may be right on that. Chicago beating the Bengals was not expected, but I had the Bears going 2-2 against the AFC North. I had the Bears only losing to Philadelphia and GB once from here. But I think 11-6 is their ceiling with a possible loss to Pittsburgh if the Lions go 4-0 against an AFC division again. Speaking of which, Lions better hope that's the case as an 11 win Bears team may finish higher. Lions surprised me twice. First, by beating the Bucs. Then, by losing to the Vikings. On Christmas, are the Lions likely to pay back on the road? Lions will start facing challenges with expected losses to Philadelphia, GB/Dallas, LAR, and Chicago. Vikings and Steelers are debatable. Lions could miss the playoffs with 10 wins.
NFC South
I really did not think the Bucs would break the Saints record of four straight division titles, but that's looking that way. After SF beat NO, I pretty much figured TB would win. I did not have TB losing to Detroit, but I had them also losing in NO. The Saints are that bad. TB I predict will have problems off the bye with three straight tough games. I have them upsetting the Rams, and it's not the first time, after losing to the Pats and Bills. I expect the Falcons to pay them back in primetime, but I don't see losses to Arizona, Carolina, NO, and Miami. Atlanta had models where they only beat Seattle from the NFC South or only lose to Arizona(and yes, they can lose there). I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta went 0-4. So SF was an expected loss, as was the home upset of the Bills, who have not swept the NFC with Allen and have lost 1 NFC game a year since 2018. Atlanta fit the bill. However, I was wrong on Miami. A game that I'm reconsidering is week 13 at the Jets. Atlanta needs to beat two of Indianapolis, Seattle, and NYJ to make the playoffs. I don't think the Panthers will keep up. They flipped positional matchups mostly and beat the Jets. But I'm expecting losses to the Falcons, 49ers, Rams, and Bucs. It's hard to see them now beating Seattle, where models were split.
NFC West
Looking like the best division in the NFC again where it's been often. LA swept the AFC South, where I predicted. I thought it was possible they would beat Ravens, but picked a L there. LA is still on pace for top seed with my projected losses to TB and Arizona, and the latter could change. I had Seattle losing to Jacksonville, but winning the others. Half the models had Seattle losing to both Atlanta and Carolina, and those seem plausible now. I have LAR and Indianapolis as additional losses with SF being a tough call. Seattle probably gets to 11-6. SF was mostly projected runner-up to the Rams, and week 18 against Seattle will decide it. I had SF beating Houston and losing to NY in a trap. It was the opposite. Preseason predictions would have them 9-8 or 10-7 from here, which includes losing in Arizona. I'm not sure I see that now, so 10-7 or 11-6.
Rams, Packers, Bears, 49ers, and Eagles were heavily predicted playoff teams. I still can see Cowboys, but not so much the Falcons. Also, I expect Eagles to go 10-7 or 11-6, and the former could hurt them in tie-breakers.
