Losing Moss for any amount of time is going to be dreadful for this D, especially for the beginning of the season. Barron or Draines aren’t even remotely on his level. A lot of our sacks last year were due to our secondary locking it down imo.

He got a lot of snapes the last 8 games . you can complain all you like Never seen him as impact but I never seen him as the reason we gave up points . I would have went at him if I was a OC but you are acting like he was terrible and that is not the case . I want them to let him sink or swim . I will tell you he will shine! Root for him to not make it if you must . I will not .

It is rare that I would ever root against a player especially on my own team. If I was a Browns fan I would probably root against Watson, but for the Broncos I'm good cheering for the players. I want Skinner to be good. Him being good means good things for the Broncos. I'm just saying I haven't seen what you have seen. The few opportunities he has gotten he has been out of position and really struggled in coverage. I don't think it should shock anyone when the Broncos brought in a new veteran for the position after what the Broncos have seen from the backup safeties.

I would tell you I want the Broncos to hold his feet to the fire and see if he is real or not . His time is now . I think he will shine . If not cut him . at some point time to show why you are drafted . it is not like we cant find someone if needed . But sitting on a bench does not tell you about a player . the first time he played was not perfect but I seen plenty worse . people **** we won and said we could have lost because he got handsy .. now they apparently never watched others panic . I would say names but in a first game he was not the reason we lost the game we won . All players go though a learning curve , so spare me that .

How many times have Carl and I posted on here that we are "rooting" for Skinner and liked him at Boise State over the years? Just because he hasn't been as good as you make him out to be doesn't mean anyone is rooting for him not to make it. Where do you come up with this stuff? You can root for players (and you should on your own team minus if they are pieces of CRAP) and still give your take on them. Just because you aren't impressed with a player doesn't mean you are rooting for them to fail.

Also, it is the NFL... We are a Super Bowl contending team... You don't throw a DB out there to let him sink or swim if he hasn't proved to you that he can swim in practice. That is how coaches lose their job.

Don't get so upset if people give an honest take on a player. It's not like anyone is calling him "garbage", talking bad about him as a person or whatever. It's just our take on his career up to this point. He has struggled in coverage, he has been an OK special teams player. There isn't much more to it. He is going into year 3, it is a big camp for him and Denver clearly hasn't see him step forward with the signing of Taylor Rapp. Our S and special teams situation is much different this year. Gone is our dependable #3 S PJ Locke. We need a safety or two to step up and fill that role and we have upgraded on special teams this offseason. It will be hard to not excel at Special Teams or S to make the roster this year. Skinner is just sorta sitting there in a weird situation where after 3 years we haven't really seen him improve as a DB and not sure he is good enough on ST's this year to warrant a roster spot for special teams only. We have guys playing better on special teams then him who are taking up those roster spots. I won't ber shocked by any means if Skinner makes it but I won't be a bit surprised if he is cut either. Taylor Rap and Devon Key are better S's then him and Key and Tycen Anderson are better ST's player then him.... We can probably also store Skinner on the PS. Miles Scott is our
developmental safety and it sorta seems like Skinner is what he is.

Taylor Rapp's roster spot will be interesting as it will depend on how the others do in the last week or so. Could we store him on the PS? Probably, we see it a lot with vets with the new PS rules... But is is sorta interesting at the timing of us signing him, it could be to convince him to stick around and start on our PS, it is hard to say but it really depends on how he looks in his short time here early on. Nobody is touting him as an amazing safety. It just simply makes sense given our current S situation why we brought him in. We need depth and are going to give him a look Maybe he is someone who can help us now or maybe he is someone who can help us in a few weeks after the season gets going and he knocks the rust off. We will see. Either way he has been a decent but injury riddled S in the NFL. Of course Skinner hasn't had an amazing opportunity but you earn that in practice. It seemed we wanted to give him that opportunity last year and then it quickly faded for him. Now he has to show we can trust him in practice to get that opportunity. We will see if he earns that trust but it doesn't seem to be trending that way right now.

We must be watching 2 different players then. I've seen passes completed on him left and right because he is out of position or slow to react. I watched him at practice last week getting yelled at by coaches because he didn't know where he was supposed to be. Joseph kept coming up asking him what he is supposed to do on a given play and then shaking his head no that Skinner got it wrong. Shouldn't be making those mistakes in your 3rd year in the system.

Crash- You need to chill out. Nobody said "He will get cut. I said "He might get cut". Quit being so sensitive over this. He hasn't played well when given the opportunity on defense. Plain and simple. It doesn't mean he is 100% getting cut. It depends on how much he had grown this year. It isn't crazy or BOLD to say he will or won't make the team. However, it is surely up in the air. It is not crazy to think he "might" get cut. He has been on the bubble all 3 years he was here. Heck, even Skinner said he thought he wasn't making the roster his rookie year. He had to call VJ and ask him if he was cut.

and I hear every time Troy Franklin drops a pass and Riley Moss gets flagged. That's football.. If you don't like when your favorite player(s) getting criticized when bad things happen then maybe a sports forum isn't for you? Suck it up! Again, I liked Skinner coming out. I'm not asking you to back down. It is more 2 things 1) Just because I say a player is not looking great doesn't mean I hate them or wish them ill will on the field to prove me right. Any time the Broncos draft someone that I'm not the biggest fan of I hope I am wrong. When the Broncos drafted Surtain I liked the player but it wasn't the direction I wanted the Broncos to go. I am so glad I was wrong. So with Skinner I am hoping something clicks and he becomes a big part of this defense being successful this season and beyond. 2) We can disagree and still love the same team. If you see Skinner different then that is fine. I would much rather have your opinion and that be the correct one.

Forsyth, Allen, Nix, McGlinchey, Bolles, Powers, Bonitto, Uwazurike, DJ Jones, Strnad, Singleton, Meinerz, Roach, Surtain,Sutton, Dobbins, Coleman, McMillian, Hufanga, B Jones, Bryant, Harvey, Waddle, Trautman, Moss, Engram, Tycen Anderson are all not playing tonight.

I think there are only a couple of surprises. Anderson not playing is interesting. Good chance means he is making this roster. So now things heat up of whether the Broncos keep 4 or 5 Safeties.

Coleman isn't a huge surprise but thought they would want to give the rookie a few more carries.

I don't think he will make the roster. Klis talked about it last night of the Broncos only keeping 2 QB's. Ehlinger will go to the practice squad.
