I think #11 is fair considering we lost our starting QB...9 would have been my guess. We'll jump in the top ten after Temple with Georgia and Clemson squaring off in week one. I don't like Louisville being ahead of us given their pathetic 2013 schedule.

What's everyone's thoughts? Oh and by the way, football month is upon us!!

We got screwed. We made it to the NCAA championship game last year. Atleast put us in the Top 10. Not saying we are a top 10 team but show some respect.

If you are in the top 25...pre season, its a good thing. Only a guessing game in the early weeks anyway. If Golson was in the mix, we would be ranked much higher.

I'm fine with #11. I think our schedule is set up pretty well to move up (as long as we keep winning). I don't think Stanford will be that good this year, but we need them to play well until our game with them. Half the teams in front of us are in the sec, so they'll knock each other off. And being out of the top 10 may be good from a motivational standpoint.

It's early; too early to know if the Gators will be a top ten team. Offense will certainly be better, but we lost some guys off the defense. Still have the best punter in college; not sure about field goals. I like Muschamp and think he has a good staff so we are hoping the Gators will surprise a few folks. That said, really feel that Ohio State is not a top 5 team, especially after a couple of near losses against VERY weak teams. Ohio State has a good chance to run the table and play for the title, however their very weak schedule might do them in.

We unexpectedly lost our QB though, it's a pretty big question mark. As we proved last year it doesn't really matter where we start off ranked. We win'em all we go to the Natty. :whoo:

I agree with you completely, I think OSU is too high. Maybe around 5 or so I'd put them. But I kind of like it. If we should happen to run the table good chance we'd play them in the NC game. As another poster said, the SEC will beat eachother up. Oregon plays Stanford...Trees win, and if we beat the Trees.

Florida is about right imo, I'd put them 11...us 9. Louisville 10.

Ummmm ... no offense ... but who really gives a rat's butt about the Florida Gators on the Notre Dame board?

You're right. Nobody cares about Florida football around here.

But I like to hear the point of view from other fan bases. As long as they aren't trying to start sh!t.

I totally hear ya, but I dont need to read 90% of a post on Florida Gator/SEC football. I could go elsewhere for that stuff ... ya know?

11 sounds about right. We lost some talent no doubt but we retained some key guys. The QB change may have a cost us a spot in the top 10.

We'd been around 5 or so with EG.

I'm ok with a Florida post, as long as its five lines or less. He probably figured between Riley Cooper and Aaron Hernandez, he should post on a board full of Catholics who are big on forgiveness.

I agree I dont see how we will score points this year. I dont see much talent on the offensive side. Only shot is if one of the freshman break out and become a beast running the ball.

Georgia is way too high, they will lose in week 1 and maybe in week 2.

What's your over/under on points per game this year?

It's a better starting position for us this year than it was last year. It looks pretty fair to me. I was expecting ND to be approximately 10.

GO IRISH!

Been away for a bit, but now that Football month is upon us, I'm ready to go.

I thought we'd be top 10, but I'm pretty happy at #11.

OSU is up there... is that because they are that good or because their schedule is so weak this year?
