I’d be more worried about the coin toss then your punter. ;)
Not worried about that LOL. That coin toss doesn't even happen if Tre White was healthy. Bills now have some additional depth at CB with some interesting rookies and added Von to bolster the pass rush. Added some DT bulk to stuff the run better too. More talent at RB, WR, TE etc. Bills are pretty stacked.

Trust me.... I wasn't happy about that coin toss either. Especially considering who you were playing.

As you know I love Kairr Elam and yes the Tre'Davious injury was really too bad last year. One of the best CB's in the NFL.

preseaon games mean nothing
if they did Johnson would not have been cut leading the team tackles

do a couple joint practices and start the real games

Amen!

I watch but I really can’t stand PS games.

If anything it gives you a chance to see newbies in their uniforms for the first time and some other players you will never see in an NFL uniform again.

When you don't hit anything in training camp - that brings some problems in blocking and tackling technique when you play against guys who have been hitting. The Broncos not only didn't play starters - they played base defense and only once sent 5 guys after the QB. The Broncos didn't want to show anything that the Bills would see in the regular season.

That said - I was most disappointed with the defensive front seven - none of those guys stepped up to make plays.

It was awful football. So what did that tell us about this year’s team. Probably not a lot. A couple takeaways:
1. Washinton looks like he is the real deal on returns. Although since we never stopped them in the first half we didn’t get to see him return punts. He also made an impressive catch in traffic.
2. Backup WRs continue to have some bright moments. Going to be some tough cuts there.
3. We may not be deep on the DL. Maybe if one of today’s players comes in next to good players he may be alright. But not seeing anyone that looked good today.
4. Mathis got burned on the first TD, but otherwise didnt see him embarrassed like some other corners.
5. I thought Boone played well and will be a contributor as the 3rd RB.

other thoughts?

Special team returns were consistently good - even if Washington wasn't fielding the ball. That's big!

Barrington Wade was really the only player on D that played decent today, imo.

We needed a game like this before the season starts. Sour taste of defeat for the backups. Now get to work.

Pass protection was decent and both QBs played reasonably well.
