Not a fan of most of his work, but the instrument work is nice on this one imo. Doesn’t feel like fratty white guy rap like blue slide park.

Joe Satriani - What Happens Next

Thats all I have so far so nothing with lyrics. A lot of 2nd tier stuff like the newest Nine Inch Nails mini album and the new Jack White but a lot of the rock I've heard as only been ok. I don't see the appeal in Ghost.

I, too, thoughts Kids See Ghosts was pretty overrated. It was a hell of a lot better than Nasir (ugh, what a let down), but only maybe 2 or 3 songs I would consider good.

I really don't know my favorite album from 2018. In fact, I think KSG and Nasir are the only two I've heard in totality, lol. Oh yeah, Kanye's solo album, Ye, which was alright. I guess Ye is my favorite.

I tried to listen to an hour and a half of Drake on his new album, but despite a few good songs, all it did was make me stare at a rope and a notch on my dresser contemplatively.

Oh, no, I was referring to this band.

I think this is actually the #1 rock song right now.

his last few albums have been solid. Blue Slide Park was a very long time ago. He has definitely matured.

Yeah, I'm liking this. Well produced.

Hurt Feeling and Ladders are both pretty accessible. Self Care and Wings both seem like good tracks, too.

John Coltrane...."Both Directions at Once" (The Lost Album)

It's an amazing album to say the least.

I posted a thread on it here in the music forum last month.

Attn: Jazz aficionados (the lost John Coltrane album released)
I feel like thats cheating. Coltrane is like finding a lost treasure and not a new invention. I'm a big fan of the Sons of Kemet - Your Queen is a Reptile album which is some feisty new jazz. Its definitely a different brand than Coltrane but I like how aggressive it is at times.

Cheating?? LOL...hardly.
But I will agree that's it's definitely a lost treasure....and although it may not be a "new invention" as you put it, it's still infinitely superior than most of the stuff people are clamoring for these days.

I like some of the Sons of Kemet stuff....I have their 1st album "Burn" and I saw them live at the Monterey Jazz festival a few years ago. They're damn good for a British bunch...and you can hear the Sun Ra influence.

Here's another 2018 album from the Jazz realm I would suggest...
Kamasi Washington - "Heaven and Earth"

Check it out.

Adam Holzman - Truth Decay

Keyboardist Adam Holzman played with Steve Wilson and Porcupine Tree a few years ago. His latest album combines a bit of Jan Hammer and Tribal Tech. Check it out...

I'll throw 'Jon Hopkins - Singularity' album in the mix of good albums. I seem to be listening to about one techno album a year and this is the one I've gravitated towards in 2018.

Ghost's 2015 album, Meliora is a pretty dang good album.

I saw them open for Maiden....it was 104 degrees that day. They came out in their full get-ups and kinda blew Maiden off the stage, IMO.

They are Swedish, so they are a bit different. I was indifferent until seeing em' live. They put on a great show.

Was reading some shit the other day, that stated Dave Grohl has suited up as a nameless ghoul for them multiple times for live shows. I believe Prince was rumored to have done the same.
