I'm actually gonna retract Tate.

He actually can easily return round 2/3 value.

It's not a guarantee, QB room is a huge ?, but it's more reasonable than I first expected.

We hear this everytime we have QB turnover. McCord has been the "letdown" and statistically he wasn't even that bad. Sayin or Kienholz either or are at least a step up from McCord by all accounts

The big ding to Tate could be Klare stealing some more receptions at TE with a inexperienced in game play QB going to that valve more.

We saw this with McCord, Stover poached a good amount from the #2 and #3 WRs

It is fine. I don't care if anyone hates or makes fun of my picks. It is what it makes these things fun. I don't get offended. :)

My thought with Tate is regardless of his upside in Round 2 you know barring injury I am getting a player who is surely the #2 WR who is in a good system and who I am going to virtually probably start every week. I don't see it as a risky pick by any means, to me it is a safe pick. It may not have the upside some of the other WR's have going around him have, only because he is a #2 and they may be a #1 ? That is fine with me though. I get a player I adore and a guy who I should be able to start virtually every week. Even if he is Egbuka from last year, which was solid I can work with it with the rest of my team. When I made this pick it wasn't with the intent that I need to hit a HOME RUN with all of my first few picks. I felt at peace with it because like I said barring injury he should be consistently good. Sure, he isn't Jeremiah Smith but the key with Soul 12 isn't hitting elite with every single pick. The key to me is not throwing away your top half of the draft because of risk. Sure there may be some WR's after him who put up better fantasy numbers but why pass on a WR A. I love B. Should be good fantasy wise regardless. I feel I know what I am getting here and I don't see it as being risky at all. I am super high on Sayin and if Lincoln is better then him, well then I am super high on i as well. ;

IMO, Carnell Tate will be one of the first WR's drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft. I know Sayin isn't proven but I am little surprised you are concerned with the OSU QB situaton...... but I do respect it... because neither is proven. I get it.

Sure, Jeremiah Smith is the best WR in all of the land which hurts and helps Tate fantasy wise. I see the pick as super safe and a solid safety net at WR. You don't need to load your team up with 30 point weekly WR's to do well in this league. Sure, if he is my top fantasy player between my RB's and WR's I am in trouble but I look at him as a consistent compliment to the others I have. He should be dependable and while he doesn't likely have Jeremiah Smith type of upside with this pick he still has upside.

I was actually happy to see you added a pick of mine to picks you didn't like. I appreciate the honesty and I think that is the kind of stuff that makes this league fun. I didn't take it personal... Especially after that GIGANTIC bear hug you gave me after this pick was already made.

Yes. I could see this being a little bit of an issue.. However, I also think the coaching staff at OSU knows Tate has been waiting in the wing. Has been a great teammate, great character and patient player. Not that the staff is throwing him the ball but I have a feeling they are going to do everything they can to give him his cookies this year. Without putting up fantastic stacks he does have a legit chance to head to the NFL after this year. I think it is important for them to reward him and help him make that a possibility with a solid year.

Agreed. However I think Klare is the most gifted receiving TE we have had in forever. I full expect him to be utilized more than many are probably thinking. Ultimately I think this effects Innis more than Tate though.

I wrote a novel on my Carnell Tate selection. ;)

What are you thought on Inniss? Curious... I like how he has stayed patient with Ohio State. Very curious how he looks this year with an expanded role. Looks like he is clearly the #3 guy but if Tate were to declare (and Smith can't) his role expands his SR year and it seems like it will all work out for him staying patient with Ohio State. I am sure he was expecting to play a bit more last year year but he will see that this year. Numbers won't be out of the roof but it will be interesting to see me how he develops for NFL purposes. I see he also changed his # to 1.

I like Innis but he might end up being a victim of being passed eventually by insanely talented underclassmen Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter. This isn't because Innis is lacking in talent it's more because those guys might be at another level. I could honestly see him maybe transferring after this year if those guys start stealing reps from him.

Yeah. I was wondering about. My cousin Quincy and Mylan could push him a bit as the season goes on for that 3rd WR role.

It is a make or break year for Inniss with Ohio State. The good thing for him is that he will have more of an opportunity as the 3rd spot is his until it isn't anymore. He has been in the system now 3 years and as long as he performs, OSU probably sticks with him and the experience he brings. The other guys behind him are sort of in that Carnell Tate last season zone now with learning and waiting and getting experience along the way. Tate had some experience his FR year but really gained the majority of it last year.

Plus you get two more elite WR's joining the crew next year.

Graham is his most immediate threat. Guy tore it up in spring and by all accounts is doing the same so far during fall camp. I think he's safe early in the season at least though, I think October will be the month when we really see a shuffle after Smith/Tate if there is one. Innis absolutely has to stay healthy though, him getting hurt and missing even just a week or two could cause him to quickly lose his position.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see how we spread the ball around in general. Smith obviously is going to command a ton of attention, which should open up some nice opportunities for everyone else. Klare was just w cold blooded addition by day. Good luck keeping tabs on him while you try to figure out how to cover the WRs as well.

@The Q How do you like that we are nearing 100 responses to your very well thought off draft analysis and not one response is from @omareasy34 or @SportsGuru5 ?

Very typical of Guru. I wouldn't expect anything less. I think Omar just didn't like the draft as much this year... Probably a sign this may be his final year? :(
