Now that some of the more exciting and more frustrating hockey as a Flyers fan has wrapped up, what can we look forward too?

AV installed a system that was fairly mutable. The players, when they bought in, were able to make the Bruins, Lightning, Capitals, Canadiens all look frustrated. The bend, don't break approach combined with Carter Hart in goal. Against the Islanders, the Flyers inability to adjust in the offensive zone, and lack of a firm back check, and the complete collapse of the power play really put the Flyers behind the 8 ball. The players who were the most successful in the playoffs were the ones whose game is go to the dirty areas, get banged around and take away goalies eyes. The least, the ones who hover around the fringes and try to snipe.

The Flyers need to resign Elliot, try to move JvR, (that will be tough) and perhaps ghost.

If Nolan Patrick can play, and that is a big IF, the Flyers will have three centers with size, who can move in open ice, have reach and are all tough on the puck. They will not have a quick center who can dart, unless they continue to spot G at Center. It will have to be spot since he is not able consistently play the 200 foot game any longer from the center role and be an offensive threat.

Who takes the spot of Justin Braun will be more important than it might seem. Braun played a minutes eater role and killed penalties. This kept the other RD rested for the PP and five on five.

Anyone who isn't excited looking forward, Morgan Frost, Joel Farabee, TK, ... this team is going to be fun.
