For this thread, we will be strictly looking at eligible, non-HOF players who are no longer on the annual ballot (so no Pete Rose or current players or PED guys still on the ballot. Or if they are current players, they shouldn't be shoo-ins for the first ballot when they retire). Just post your player, and give a little write-up as to why he should be remembered. OK, here goes.
Bill Skowron. He helped his team win the World Series five times (four with the Yankees) and was an All-Star eight times. He knocked in the winning run in Game 6 of the 1958 World Series. He put up his best season in 1960 when he hit .309/.353/.528 with a .385 wOBA. For his career, he finished with a 118 wRC+ and a 28.6 WAR in 6046 PA. Not Hall of Fame worthy, but certainly a nice little career as a first baseman
