Watching the playoffs I started this discussion with my brother. #1 and #2 we thought were easy. After that it got a lot harder- Obviously there is a huge bias towards QB as its by far the most important position- I wanted to rank Patrick Peterson higher- but we saw what happened when they lost their QB who was not even that great to begin with. (also assuming Peyton retires - because that one is VERY hard to do.-I figured Brady, and Brees each had 3 years left)

If all the players were thrown in a draft and every team started from scratch- AND player age and counted, what would it look like? Remember- for one game I would rather have Brady- but considering his age- I would probably rather have Joe Flacco. Its hard to do considering how important QB ranking guys like Brees, Brady, and Rothlisberger since its hard to tell how long they still have- I mean- at one point during the year it seemed Brady was really going downhill after the Chiefs game and then all of a sudden hes amazing again and on the cusp of the SuperBowl.

If I was the GM this is how it would go: What do you guys think and what would your list look like?

It wouldn't look anything like that. You only listed offensive lineman.

This idea would get solid participation in the offseason.

It is an interesting idea. I'll think about it tomorrow, perhaps. I do have to mention Justin Houston is the strongside OLB in the Chiefs 1-gap 3-4; he is not really a DE (even if his agent tries to argue he should be paid like one) not sure if that impacts the draft at all, but it's worth noting.

Good topic. Terrible time to post it. The offseason was built for threads like this.

Wait... Flacco at #4?

I guess with your youth argument it makes a little bit of sense
