I'm not sure what that critic is talking about. I'm neither a big fan nor big detractor of Nickelback, but I don't think of their music as dour. They're poppy and easy to listen to.

Nickelback and the other bands that sound exactly like them might be my least favorite type of music out there right now. And there's a lot of shit out there. I can't stand it.

it fucking awful.

and from the town that spawned Bachman Turner Overdrive, the Guess Who and Neil Young,
the authors have a pretty strong argument.

"Nickelback began as a derivative act. They processed the post-grunge of the late 1990s -- already dated at the time -- into an even more homogenous morass. They are the musical equivalent of a margarine sandwich on white bread."

I really hate Nickelback. It's like listening to Micheal Bolton getting raped by a cow.

Lol. Okay, okay. Christ, they're just a poppy rock band. Somebody likes them b/c they've sold a ton of CDs. A lot more than the bitter, failed musician that wrote that article. I could give two shits who is the music act at that event, but I guarantee it won't make a damn bit of difference to the world of hockey and I also guarantee Gary Bettman isn't sitting in his office perusing a list of bands and picking one out.

so you admit you're wrong. good :thumb:
it was an article in jest, but a parallel would be a historic 4 day celebration in New Jersey, for example, headlined by Creed.

Hmmm, wonder who the headliner would be in Nashville?
