I am trying not to get my hopes up but this would be a small step in the right direction.

Network's Mike Garafolo reports Redskins owner Dan Snyder is "truly evaluating" team president Bruce Allen’s status with the team.
Allen has been with the Redskins since 2010 in President/GM roles. His tenure in Washington has been largely unsuccessful, with just three winning seasons and multiple front office controversies. Allen was the driving force behind hiring Jay Gruden and botched the Kirk Cousins negotiations. He's also racked up massive cap penalties during his time in Washington. The Redskins (2-9) have fielded one of the worst rosters in the league this year, with an offense featuring a 34-year-old running back and a rookie quarterback that's looked overmatched. Moving on from Allen is a long overdue move for the NFL's most dysfunctional team.

I don't know hat Synder could be evaluating. Allen is his puppet. I thought he was the driving force that Bruce was still here. Of course he should get fired that's not the question. The question is does Synder want another puppet or a Real GM.

All this means, if true, is that Snyder actually saw and heard those "sell the team" signs/chants. There's ONLY one person that has the power to actually sell the team and as such, he has to either risk deepening disenchantment or offer something to, at minimum, temporarily pacify that revenue stream.

Fair warning to Mr. Snyder if that is his intent. Do not botch the opportunity to do the right thing for your franchise and long suffering fan base by hiring another Allen/ Cerrato type.

It should be Kyle Smith. Kyle has been controlling the last 3 drafts.

He wont sell the team the business end doesn't make any sense to sell. All owners no matter how good or bad the team is make huge money. I just hope he promotes Kyle Smith.

What is there to actually evaluate?

Do we suck? Yes!
Is attendance down? Yes!
Is merchandise sales down? Yes!
Are season ticket sales down? Yes!
Are fans really angry / numb / depressed / indifferent about the state of the redskins? Yes!
Do former redskins speak ill of Bruce Allen? Yes!
Do other GM's / Owners speak ill of Bruce Allen? Yes!
Did Bruce Allen have a hand in botching most Redskins Free Agent contract negotiations? Yes!
Do your star players - i.e. Trent Williams et al - have nothing nice to say about Bruce Allen? Yes!

There you go, Danny. Analysis complete.

Fire his punk ass, install a real GM, and GTF outta the way!

P.S.

Be honest with yourself, Danny:

All the grease in Brucie Allen's hair ain't gonna convince the District to publicly finance a new stadium on the site of RFK, given the current state of affairs of the Redskins as a team anyway.

Case in point: nobody goes to the games currently, save fans of the Redskins opponents.

And why should they? Its a miserable experience from start to finish.

It should be Kyle Smith. Kyle has been controlling the last 3 drafts.

It should not be anyone internal. Absolutely not.

Any unproven internal candidate is sure to be more of the same.
